Louise, my first cloth and clay doll!

Here she is; my first cloth and clay doll. I could not wait to present her. She squints a bit and one eye is a bit larger than the other one. My sweet family says that it makes her charming, not a barbiedoll......... She still needs some finishing. Her skirt has to be attached and I have to varnish her. Her colours are a perfect match with the horse that I bought many years ago, so they are a couple now.
I had problems with painting this lady, following the instructions which were given by Jane DesRosier.
Using patina on a doll was complete new to me. What a mess I made, but the color turned out well in the end.
Next time I use my own method of painting again. I called this doll Louise, with thanks to So dark so cute!
She helped me to choose between Alice and Louise. So dark so cute makes sweet dark art and I love her little poems about orphans. The horse comes from Germany and still needs a name.

I love the way she emerged from cloth and clay to a little person!
